The Languedoc-Roussillon region of France is where the magnificent Pyrenees meets the warm Mediterranean Sea.

Perpignan, which is located only 7 miles from the sea is the capital of Roussillion and is famous for its art and museums. In this part of France the Catalan influence plays a significant part in the customs and traditions of the region. The village bullfight, familiar in many parts of Spain is also found in this part of France.
Carcassone is a medieval walled city. Within its walls you will discover a picturesque village with narrow streets full of restaurants, museums and churches. Every year the city holds a great number of festivals including water jousting and bull fighting.
